ReadyRedact supports a wide variety of document types including:

3. IS REDACTION PERMANENT?
Yes. ReadyRedact performs true, irreversible redaction, not simply visual masking.
Redaction occurs in two stages:
- Selected content is initially marked as redaction annotations so users can review, adjust, or approve proposed redactions.
- Once applied, the redaction becomes permanent.
During permanent redaction:
- Underlying text is physically removed.
- Images inside the redacted area are removed.
- Vector graphics are removed.
- Any intersecting annotations are removed.
- Form fields contained within the redacted region are removed.
The original information is deleted from the document structure itself, not simply hidden beneath a black box.
Because of this:
- Content cannot be recovered by copying and pasting.
- It cannot be revealed by removing layers.
- It cannot be extracted using forensic PDF tools.
- It cannot be recovered by inspecting the document structure.
4. HOW IS DATA PROTECTED DURING PROCESSING?
Security is built into every stage of processing.
All communication uses encrypted HTTPS/TLS connections, and documents are processed within secure cloud infrastructure designed to protect sensitive information throughout the redaction workflow.
5. IS DOCUMENT METADATA REMOVED?
Yes. Visible content is only one part of document security. ReadyRedact automatically performs a sanitization process alongside permanent redaction that removes hidden information including:
- Author information
- Document titles
- Comments
- Revision history
- Hidden metadata
- Embedded document properties
- Other hidden elements that could expose confidential information
This ensures sensitive information does not remain hidden within the file after redaction.
6. IS MY DATA STORED?
ReadyRedact is designed with privacy in mind.
ReadyRedact securely stores documents only as needed to support your organization’s workflow, collaboration, audit history, and user access controls. Customers maintain control over their documents and may delete them according to their retention policies.
7. IS MY DATA USED TO TRAIN AI MODELS?
No. Customer documents are never used to train public AI models.
Your information remains your information.

Yes.
Built-in OCR technology allows the system to identify sensitive information within scanned PDFs and image-based documents before applying permanent redactions

Absolutely.
Users can review, modify, approve, or reject proposed redactions before permanently applying them.
This review workflow provides confidence while still dramatically reducing manual effort.

Users can create up to 5 custom auto redaction rules depending on the chosen plan.
